The Resource Planning: Workloads page uses a graphic format to display the combined allocations of each resource across all of the investment or services to which he or she is assigned. Use this page to quickly and easily compare the availability of each resource to the number of hours s/he has been allocated to investment or services.
By default, allocations are displayed in color by week. However, you can use the Time Scale to Value option to change the time period to bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or something else. You can also change the display colors.
Note: See the Common Features and Personal Options User Guide for more information.
You can view your resources from the Resource Planning: Workloads page. To view this page, select Resource Planning from the Resource Management menu.
By default, the graph uses the following colors to display allocation information:
When you scroll over the histogram for each week, a note summarizing the resource's allocation and availability for that period appears. Use the note to compare the resource's availability (for example, 40 hours) to his or her actual allocation for that period (say, 60 hours). When a resource has been overbooked, you can edit his or her allocations to reduce the amount of time the resource is scheduled to work on an investment or service.
Though you cannot edit resource allocations directly from the Resource Planning: Workloads page, you can drill down through the histogram to editable pages. Use the resource's Resource/Role Allocations page to edit resource workloads. To view this page, select Resource Planning from the Resource Management menu, and then click in one of the histogram's time period cells for the resource whose allocations you want to edit.
You can also access a resource's Resource/Role Allocations page from the Resource Planning: Workloads page by clicking the Resource Allocation icon next to the resource's name.
