The MODIFY (F) command allows you to update the product tree, obtain updates for products and product releases, execute task management policies, and change log4j settings. For each action, the command contains a particular set of parameters.
The MODIFY command has the following format:
F jobname,APPL=command,parameter=value[,parameter=value,…]
Defines the name of the job which is started.
Defines the command that is issued.
Specifies the command type. The following options are available:
Updates the product tree.
Obtains updates for products and product releases.
Temporarily changes log4j settings at run time.
Executes a task management policy.
Defines a parameter that may vary depending on the type of the command that you issue: updating the product tree, updating products or product releases, changing log4j settings, or execute task management policies.
