Unified Install Process Overview

The unified install process unloads and configures the security discipline software prerequisites as a single set, simplifying and expediting the install process. The unified method supports CA Datacom/AD on a single system. If you wish to install on multiple systems or want to use DB2 as your database, you must use the manual method.

The following steps are required to complete the unified install process:

• Form Pre-Installation Planning Team
• Review Unified Software Prerequisites
• Review Installer Security Privileges
• Setting Up a File System for the Pax Files
• Acquire the Unified Install Process Pax Files
• Create a Product Directory from the Pax File
• Copy Installation Files to z/OS Data Sets
• Import an SMP/E Environment to CA CSM (Optional)
• Apply Preventative Maintenance
• Run the Staging Jobs
• Customize Members
• Clean Up the USS Directory (Optional)
