Investigator Module

The Investigator module lets you load, edit, and delete complete paths that you have followed while viewing and managing your systems. You can also resume incomplete paths and unsaved paths. This module helps you quickly return to a specific area in the product for training, troubleshooting, or daily operations.

The Investigator module includes several tools to help you monitor and investigate your data and systems:

Investigator

Displays your data and systems in a tabular and chart view.

Topology Viewer

Displays a pictorial view of your data. After you select data from an Investigator table, you can launch this tool.

Time Series Facility

Displays line charts of time-based performance data. After you select data from an Investigator table, you can launch the Time Series Facility (TSF).

Notes

Lets you embed notes in rows of data to promote knowledge sharing.

Paths

Houses saved paths that you have traversed while working in the Investigator. Your paths and public paths are automatically stored in the Knowledge Center. These paths appear in your Knowledge Center search results.

The auto-refresh option is available in the paths module, and is enabled by default for authorized users. When this option is enabled, any changes in back-end data refresh the front-end data once every 30 seconds. For example, when the server generates new alerts, they appear in the Alerts module after 30 seconds. Click Refresh (The Refresh icon that helps you to enable or disable the auto-refresh option.) to disable or enable the auto-refresh option. If you are not an authorized user, click Refresh (The icon that helps you refresh the data.) to refresh the data manually.
