Specify a Column Data Warehouse Source

Use the Data Source tab in the Columns dialog to specify the data warehouse source for the selected column.

Note: Ensure that you have selected the Data Movement option in the Model Properties dialog to enable data movement modeling features.

To specify a column data warehouse source

1. Click Columns on the Model menu.

   The Columns dialog opens.

2. Click the Data Source tab.

   The Data Source tab opens.

3. Select from the following options and click OK:

   Data Sources

   Lets you specify a data warehouse source to attach to the selected column. Click the button to open the Data Warehouse Source Selector dialog to select a data warehouse source that is not currently displayed in the Data Sources field.

   Transform Comment

   Lets you enter a comment to describe how the source is integrated into the data warehouse. Use the cut, copy, and paste buttons for comment text, and use the enlarge button to open a larger dialog in which to work with your comments.

   The column data warehouse source is specified and the Columns dialog closes.
