Use the following options and tabs in the Columns dialog to view and update the properties for each column in each table in the physical model. You can also access other dialogs to create default values, validation rules, user-defined properties, data warehouse sources, and domains.
Lets you select the table that contains the columns to which you can assign properties. You can select a different table name from the list to view the columns in another table, or click the
button to open the Tables dialog.
Displays the names of all columns in the current table and lets you change the physical column order.
Enables you to open the New Column dialog and add a new column to the table.
Enables you to open the Rename Column dialog and edit the name of the selected column.
Lets you delete the selected column from the table.
Enables you to open the Reset Column Properties dialog and reset one or more properties to the default setting specified by the associated domain.
Lets you start the Complete Compare process and synchronize the columns defined in your data model with the database stored on the server.
Lets you manage the domain, primary key, and logical or physical model display properties for the selected column.
Lets you manage the datatype and the null option for the selected column. You can also enter column volumetrics information. The name of this tab changes dynamically depending on your target server. For example, if you are working with an Ingres target server, the tab reads Ingres. Access, iSeries, and Progress target servers have two tabs in this dialog in which to manage column properties.
Lets you assign validation constraints or default values to the selected column.
Lets you enter a comment for the selected column.
Lets you specify user-defined property values for the selected column.
Lets you specify the data warehouse source for the selected column.
Note: This tab is only available if you selected the Data Movement check box in the Model Properties dialog.
Lets you manage index membership for the selected column.
Lets you view the history for the selected column.
