Define General Column Properties

Use the General tab in the Columns dialog to manage the domain, primary key, and logical or physical model display properties for the selected column.

To define general column properties

1. Click Columns on the Model menu.

   The Columns dialog opens.

2. Click the General tab.

   The General tab opens.

3. Select from the following options and click OK:

   Alphabetically

   Specifies to sort the domains in alphabetical order.

   Hierarchically

   Specifies to sort the domains in hierarchical order.

   Primary Key

   Specifies to include the selected column in the primary key. You can clear this check box to make the column a non-key column.

   Physical Only

   Specifies to include the selected column in the physical model only. You can clear this check box to have a corresponding attribute for this column in the logical model. If you are working with a physical-only model and select this check box, when you derive a new logical-only model, the selected attributes will not appear in the new model.

   General properties are set and the Columns dialog closes.
