Adding a Manual Root-Cause Comment

If an event causes a breach in a service level agreement, you can manually add a root-cause comment for the metric.

Root-cause comments, relevant to the report, are displayed in the report if the filter is defined.

If the contract party is defined for the report, the root-cause comment metric tree displays all accessible metrics of all accessible contracts for the selected contract party.

If the contract party and contract are defined for report, the root-cause metric tree displays all accessible metrics for the selected contract party and contract

If the contract party, contract and metric are defined for report, the root-cause metric tree displays metrics defined in the report for contract party, contract and metric.

To add a root-cause comment

  1. In the Analysis tab, Analysis section, click Showhide to view the analysis information.
  2. Click Add Manual Root-Cause Comment.

    The Add Manual Root Cause Comment dialog box opens.

  3. In Metric, select the metric to which you want to add the root-cause comment.
  4. [Optional]. In Resource, select the resource from the list of available resources.
  5. In Timestamp, select the date and time for the root-cause comment.
  6. In Root-cause comment, enter the root-cause comment (up to 512 characters).
  7. Click Save.

    The Analysis tab opens.

  8. Click Done to return to the Favorites page

    -OR-

    Click Refresh to view the manually added root cause.

Note: You can also add a manual root-cause comment by clicking on the line of an existing root cause to add a root-cause comment using the date from the existing root-cause comment.
