Defining Report Criteria

To define report criteria

  1. Click Reports and then Report Wizard.

    The Report Wizard is displayed.

  2. In Report Wizard, Criteria tab, select an existing favorite report from the Based on favorite drop-down list to use as a template for the new report. The defined parameters for the existing report are automatically entered as a basis for the new report, where they can be easily changed according to your preferences.
  3. From the Report type drop-down list, select the type of report you want to generate. This information defines the data in the vertical, or Y-axis, of the graph.
  4. From the by drop-down list, select the criterion by which the report is to be displayed. This information defines the data in the horizontal, or X-axis, of the graph.

Note: The criteria available vary according to the type of report selected. For more information on report types, see Report Types.

  5. From the Grouped by drop-down list, select a criterion by which to group the report. This parameter is useful for generating a report containing more than one level of data.

For example, when creating a Deviation report by contract party, you can use this option to group the results by services; this results in a report containing multiple bars measuring the deviation for each contract party, one bar per service. If there are ten contract parties and three services per contract party, a total of thirty bars are displayed. In this example, grouping eliminates the need to first generate a report by contract party and only then drill down to see the data per service.

Note: The Grouped by drop-down list is disabled for reports with targets.

  6. From the Aggregation drop-down list, select how to aggregate the data in the report from the following:
  7. From the Metric type drop-down list, select the metric type. Click More to select additional metric types or remove metrics types from the list.
  8. Select additional report filters, if required, as follows:
    1. From the Contract Party drop-down list, select a specific contract party or contract party group.
    2. If a specific contract party was selected, you can select a specific contract from the Contracts drop-down list.
    3. If a specific contract was selected, you can select a specific metric from the Metrics drop-down list.
    4. Click More to select additional metrics or remove metrics from the list.

Selecting a metric automatically selects associated fields (such as service domain, domain category and TimeSlot). These selections cannot be modified as long as the metric remains selected.

    5. Select a Service and Service Domain using the drop-down lists provided.
    6. Select a Domain Category using the drop-down list provided.

A service domain and domain category must be selected when generating service level reports. For other report types, these fields are optional.

    7. Select Cluster Item using the drop-down lists provided. Selecting a specific Cluster Item further limits the report to show only the selected cluster item. Click More to select additional resource and resource groups. In the Advanced Selection window, select the Search type:
  9. In Main indicator, a metric attribute, which indicates whether a certain metric is the main indicator of a contract or of a service, select Contract or Service. When this filter is set, the report includes only metrics marked with main indicator in the report.
  10. In the Time range fields, enter the time range to be included in the report, using one of the following options:
    1. In the from and to fields, enter the start and end dates.

Note: Select the date from the calendar by clicking Open Calendar.

    1. The minimum time range is one hour. The maximum time range depends on the criterion selected for the X-axis.
    2. In the last field, enter an amount and from the drop-down list select the time unit: hour(s), day(s), week(s), month(s), quarter(s) or year(s). For example, you can define the time range as the last three weeks.

Note: The time units available depend on the criteria chosen for the X-axis of the graph.

    1. In the from beginning of field, use the drop-down list to select the time unit (hour, day, week, month, quarter, year) at which to start the report.
  11. Click Add to Favorites or Generate to generate the report.
