Information regarding the parent and children relations of an entity is created when a new entity is created from a template or service level template, and when a template entity or a whole contract is copied. Derivative information is automatically added to the system and stored when the user performs an action that creates a new entity from a parent entity.
Note: Derivative information is not created when copying entities that are not templates or service level templates that do not belong to a template or service definition or have associated relationships. For example: duplicating a metric in a contract does not preserve the relationship, while copying a whole contract does. Penalties and timeslots do not maintain relationships.
Relationships are maintained when creating a contract from a contract template or adding a metric from a service level template to a contract.
