Deploy the Content Pack

The content pack is a part of the service cartridge that consists of forms, rules, actions, and reports that are required for the service offering. You deploy this content pack to CA Service Catalog.

We recommend that you have the completed worksheet ready to respond to the prompts before you start the deployment.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the server where CA Service Catalog is installed.
  2. Download the service cartridge from the CA Technologies support website.
  3. Extract the CA Automation Suite for Clouds for VMware View - CA ASC VMware VDI.zip file and copy the CA ASC VMware VDI folder to the %USM_HOME%\filestore\contentpacks folder. Where %USM_HOME% is the home directory where CA Service Catalog is installed.

Note: Record the location in the CA Automation Suite for Clouds for VMware View installation worksheet.

  4. Open the command prompt.
  5. Navigate to CA ASC VMware VDI folder from the command prompt.
  6. Type DeployVMwareVDICartridge.cmd, and press Enter.

    The content pack deployment starts.

  7. Type the tenant ID at the following prompt:
[input] Enter the id of the tenant you want to import the content pack into (Required):

The tenant ID is case-sensitive. If the tenant ID case does not match, it shows an error message. You repeat this procedure for every tenant.

For example, if you used Forward Inc. during the CA Automation Suite for Clouds Foundation installation, then use it as the tenant ID.

Note: For more information about tenants, see CA Automation Suite for Clouds Foundation Implementation Guide.

  8. Type y at the following prompt:
Installation will re-start CA Service View multiple times. Please press y to continue or any key to exit.

On a successful deployment the message BUILD SUCCESSFUL appears.

  9. Type y at the following prompt to create groups:
If the build is successful, type y to create groups or press any key to exit the setup.

  10. Complete the following fields to create groups in CA EEM if prompted:

Service groups are created, the following message appears:

Offering permissions set successfully in CA Service Catalog.

This script creates the following groups in CA EEM and assigns permissions to the services offered in CA Service Catalog:

    The service cartridge is deployed.

Note: Perform more steps on all nodes, for installing cartridges that are configured in a clustered mode. Typically, the installation is performed on a single node and contents like services, forms, events, and reports are reflected on all nodes. However, files like plugin jars, requestshared.xml, must be copied manually to all the other nodes of the cluster.

Follow these steps:

  1. Extract cartridge-name.zip to the %USM_HOME%\filestore\content-packs\ and open the cartridge-name folder.
  2. Open the prescripts folder and run the cartridge-name prescript.bat file as an Administrator.
  3. Copy the contents of the following folders:
  4. Restart the CA Service View service on the Node.
