Back Up and Restore the Database
When installing the management console for the first time, the management console does not automatically perform a database backup as part of its weekly database maintenance.
Because various situations can lead to an unrecoverable database, we recommend that you schedule and perform weekly database backups. For more information, visit the CA Support website at http://support.ca.com.
To manually back up the MySQL database:
- Log in to the CA ADA Manager server.
- Open the Services Manager.
- Stop all CA and NetQoS services, including the CA MySQL service (service name in version 10.2 and above), or the NetQoS MySQL51 service (service name in version 10.1 and below).
- For version 10.1 and below, copy the folder <ADA_HOME>\mysql51\data\super and all sub directories to a remote backup location.
- For version 10.2 and above, copy the folder <ADA_HOME>\mysql\data\super and all sub directories to a remote backup location.
