Investigations - Network Device Properties

View and manage the properties of a network device, for example, to change its device name or type. If you do not assign an SNMP profile, when the investigation runs, the management console attempts to discover a valid SNMP profile.

Complete the following fields:

Device Name

Defines the DNS name of the device. Click IP to resolve the IPv4 address for the specified name.

IP Address

Defines the IPv4 address of the device. Click DNS to resolve the DNS host name for the specified IPv4 address.

SNMP Profile Name

Specifies the SNMP profile that identifies a known SNMP user on the device whose credentials the management console can use to manually launch a Performance via SNMP investigation or poll a router for client network information.

If you click None, the management console automatically discovers a SNMP profile when attempting to poll a router.
