General Tab (App Config)

The General Tab contains the following fields:

Name

Unique name of the application on this grid.

A lock icon to the right of the application name indicates that the application is locked. When an application is locked, it cannot be edited or viewed within the Editor.

Note: For more information, see Command Line Shell Reference.

Limits: case-sensitive single word, contains alphanumeric characters and underscore ([A-Z, a-z, 0-9,_]), must start with an alphabet

Description

Human-readable description of the application.

User 1

Free-form user-defined text that is intended for specifying billing code.

User 2

Free-form user-defined text that is intended for specifying billing code.

Template

Check box specifying that application is a template (that is, it can be provisioned).

Unique ID

Unique numeric identifier of the application that CA AppLogic® uses internally. The ID is assigned automatically when the application is created.

Documentation URL

URL where the documentation for the application can be found. You can open the URL by clicking the Open URL text to the right of the field.

Preferred Virtualization Mode

Specifies the type of virtualization. CA AppLogic® for System z supports the following virtualization mode: z/VM.

Note: Although you cannot change the application name here, you can rename the application from the Installed Applications screen.
