Release date: 2014-11-14
Applicability:
hf9472 is a mandatory hotfix for CA AppLogic 3.8.x. This hotfix cannot be used with other versions of CA AppLogic.
This hotfix resolves the Shellshock vulnerability by updating the standard appliances in the AppLogic 3.8.x catalog. The standard appliances are updated with a bash package that has the Shellshock vulnerability fixed. All appliances in the /system, /dynamic, /filer catalogs are updated as well as the VDS and VDS64 applications.
Before the update, all applications that use the catalog appliances must be stopped. If not, these appliances will not be updated. Only the standard catalog appliances, supplied by CA as a part of the original distribution, are updated. Any singletons derived from these appliances, any singletons created manually, or applications provisioned using VDS* templates are not updated automatically and require a manual update.
In addition, this hotfix can require a minimum of two hours to install. A grid reboot is required for this hotfix to take effect.
