Grid Meta Data Backup
The BFC includes a scheduled task that runs once a day in the background to perform a backup for each grid. The following features are included:
- A grid metadata backup is performed every day for each grid. If grid metadata is corrupted for some reason, a designated administrator can restore the data.
- Backup data is saved to the following path on the BFC: <instdir>/grid_metadata_backup/<grid_name>, where <instdir> is the directory where the bfc is installed (e.g. /opt/bfc) and <grid_name> is the grid name.
- Status information for backups is posted to the Controller tab on the Grid page.
- The dashboard displays a message if a grid has not been backed up for more than one day, or if the backup failed.
- You can also enter the grid info command on the command line to review information about the last successful backup.
Backup status information is displayed in the following fields of the Controller tab on the Grid page:
- Meta Data Backup - Most Recent Status
-
Displays a message for the status of the last backup: Successful, or Failed.
- Meta Data Backup - Last Successful Time
-
Displays the date and timestamp for the last successful backup.
