Lamp Fails to Start when Grid is Upgraded from AppLogic 3.5

When you upgrade your grid from AppLogic 3.5 to 3.7 or greater, any Lamp applications built using a 3.5 grid will fail following the provisioning process. You must manually update the default memory value for INSSLR from 160 M to between 192 M and 2 G.

In AppLogic 3.5, the Lamp template application explicitly sets the resource for INSSLR to 160 M. When the INSSLR class in later versions of AppLogic is used, INSSLR requires 192 M of memory and refuses to start with only 160 MB.

To fix this issue:

  1. Provision the Lamp application before or after the upgrade from AppLogic 3.5 to the latest version.
  2. Right click the INSSLR appliance and select Resources or View Boundary.
  3. In the Resources page, enter a memory value between 192 M and 2 G, depending on your need.
  4. Verify the CPU and Bandwidth resources. Enter the values, if needed.
  5. Click OK. The grid displays.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Start the Lamp application.
