Auto Discovery

The Auto Discovery function of the BFC automatically discovers servers as they are powered on their backbone network. Once discovery is complete by the BFC, the server appears on the BFC Servers page in an offline state.

Implement the Auto Discovery process using the following steps:

  1. Connect the server to the backbone and external networks.
  2. Configure the BIOS of the server as stated in the topic to Setup Grid Server Hardware.
  3. Choose the appropriate discovery mode. Refer to the help to Configure Discovery Options.
  4. Start the server.

The server is discovered by the BFC and the new server appears on the BFC Servers page in an offline state until it is requested by a grid.
