BFC Finding and Cleaning Orphaned IP Pools
It may happen that sometimes IP ranges become orphaned in a BFC. That is: IP Reservation Pools for which the owning Grid has been deleted or where IP allocations exist erroneously. When such pools exist several types of errors may arise when defining new IP ranges in the BFC.
The provided script, valid for versions of BFC above 3.1 will show the orphaned pools and delete the orphaned pools and deallocate the allocated IP addresses if the 'cleanup' option is passed.
Usage:
- Copy the attached script to the BFC where you want to list/delete the pools
- Change ownership of the script to bfcadmin:bfc, permissions 755
- Log in as bfcadmin (su - bfcadmin)
- Run ./cleanup_ip_pools show to see the IP pools known to the BFC that are in an orphaned state
- Once you have verified the pools listed correspond indeed to erroneous assignments, run ./cleanup_ip_pools cleanup to clear them
