Move a User Story from the Backlog to the Current Sprint
The Backlog page simplifies sprint planning by enabling you to drag-and-drop user stories from the product backlog into a sprint.
Follow these steps:
- In the Backlog page, select the name of the product from the Product field.
- Click the Show Sprints link (left-facing double arrow) to display the Sprint Stories list. You can filter the view to display the backlog for the sprint you want to work with.
- Select the release, sprint, and team you are planning for. Select a release and sprint. You can view all teams participating on the sprint, or one team. If you select a team, you can view the velocity chart for the team. If you view all teams, the velocity chart does not display.
- Drag a user story from the product backlog and drop it onto Sprint Stories.
The user story is added to the Sprint Stories list. The team velocity chart is updated. The sprint is updated in the product backlog and user story detail. The user story is also appears on Sprint Backlog & Charts page.
Note: A user story must have the estimated story points specified for the sprint capacity.
