Review the Prerequisites

Consider the following options before you perform a file-level recovery:

• You have a valid recovery point and the encryption password, if any.
• You have a valid target node to recover data.
• You have verified that the CA ARCserve D2D for Linux server supports the file system that you want to restore.

  For example, RedHat 5.x does not support the reiserfs file system. If the operating system of the D2D Server is RedHat 5.x and you want to restore the reiserfs file system, you must install the file system driver to support reiserfs. You can also use CA ARCserve D2D for Linux Live CD to perform the file-level restore because Live CD supports all types of file system.
