Prior to performing your first backup, you must specify the backup settings to be applied to and control all subsequent backup jobs. These settings are applied to each backup job, regardless of how you initiate the backup. For more information, see Manage Backup Settings.
A backup job can be initiated either automatically (based upon your schedule settings) or manually (immediate ad-hoc backup).
