Reason:
There can be a number of reasons for backup or restore to fail.
Action:
Check the agent log file, which is located in the agent/logs directory. For more information about backup operations, see your Oracle manual.
If a previous backup job has failed, it may have left the source tablespaces in backup mode. To put the tablespace in normal mode, enter the following command at the SQL*Plus prompt:
ALTER TABLESPACE "tablespace_name" END BACKUP
