File Sync Timeout or Group Sync Timeout Field

This setting is used by the Agent for Open Files to determine when to give up trying to find a safe time to allow access to a file or group by a backup client. If this period is exceeded without the agent establishing the required Write Inactivity Period, the agent fails the backup client's request to open the file.

To restore the default File/Group Sync Timeout, perform the following procedure:

  1. Repeatedly click the up or down arrow buttons until the setting turns blue.

    This is the default value.

  2. Double-click the setting.
  3. Press Ctrl+D.
