Auto Sense Radio Button

This option controls the way in which the agent for detects whether a file is in a safe state to allow the client access for backing up. Auto Sense is the default sync method for new files.

• Windows--On Windows computers, selecting Auto Sense has the same effect as selecting Write Inactivity. By default, the Write Inactivity method is used. This option cannot be changed.
• NetWare--Selecting it causes the agent to use either of the Write Inactivity or Transaction Tracking methods, according to whichever is more appropriate to a particular file. The Transaction Tracking method is used if the file is seen to be using TTS, otherwise the Write Inactivity method is used.
