The Best Method for Including Users

Now that you have a basic understanding of how the selective synchronization process works, the next step is to determine the best ways to identify the users in your environment that need to be synchronized. Here are a couple suggestions:

  1. Determine which users need to be synchronized.

Note: The Logonid database contains all users, some of which are not DB2 users. Including non‑DB2 users can significantly increase the amount of time and system resources required for the synchronization.

  2. INCLUDE/EXCLUDE users using IF, UID, and USER keywords. Your best keyword selection is IF, providing you have a logonid bit field or fields you can use to identify DB2 users.
