In DB2, privileges are also derived from ownership of a resource. Ownership of an object gives an ID certain privileges that can be passed on to others and cannot be revoked. These privileges depend on the type of resource that you are accessing. For example, ownership of a storage group enables you to alter or drop the group and to name it in the USING clause when creating a table space or an index. Ownership of a table lets you:
As long as an object exists, you cannot change the owner or revoke the privileges of ownership of an object (other than a plan). You can only drop the object, which deletes all the privileges and all the data contained in the object. You can then create a new object with a new owner.
