Modifying Appliances to Use SCSI Disks

To provide better disk I/O performance on ESX-based grids for both Windows and Linux appliances, CA 3Tera AppLogic now supports the ability for appliances to use SCSI disks as opposed to IDE disks (SCSI disks are only supported in CA 3Tera AppLogic 3.1 and higher). This support is intended only for ESX-based grids (there are no benefits using SCSI disks on Xen-based grids).

The following sections describes the steps required to modify an existing appliance built with IDE disks to use SCSI disks.
