Configuring VLANs
If you are using VLAN tagging, the VLANs tab enables you to provide the configuration and VLAN ranges for use by your applications in the grid.
To configure VLAN information for a grid
- Select Grids from the left Menu.
The Grids page appears. The state of the grid can be running, stopped, failed, failed - running (grid create failed but left the servers running), needs attention, and requires reboot.
- Click the desired grid name in the GRID column.
The Servers tab for the grid appears.
- Click the VLANs tab.
- Click the Edit button.
- Specify the following fields:
- VLAN Configuration

Options are Private Cloud or Public Cloud.
- Public Cloud

Indicates that the grid may have applications that use appliances with external interfaces on different VLANs. Therefore, the range is configurable.
- Private Cloud

Indicates that the grid has a single VLAN ID setting which is applied automatically by CA 3Tera AppLogic to all appliances with an external interface, the grid controller, and the grid servers.
- If you select Public Cloud, perform the following steps:
- Specify a default VLAN so CA 3Tera AppLogic assigns every component with an external interface to a default VLAN ID. Valid value is 0-4094.
- Click the Add VLAN range button.
- Double-click the cell in the START column and enter the VLAN start range.
- Double-click the cell in the END column and enter the VLAN end range.
- Indicate if a reboot is required if you want the changes to immediately take effect.
- Click the Save button.
- If you select Private Cloud, perform the following steps:
- Specify the VLAN ID. Valid value is 0-4094.
- Indicate if a reboot is required.
- Click the Save button.
