The TMSSMF utility supports the following control statements. You can specify each control statement only once.
Defines the starting day of the selection period. The date format should match the pattern specified in the DATEFMT execution parameter. If the DATEFMT pattern is not entered, YYYY/DDD is used. START is combined with the STIME parameter. The statement defines the specific point in time to begin evaluating SMF data tape activity to convert to CA 1 update transactions. If you omit the START control statement, every record up to the END control statement is used (if you specify the END control statement).
Defines the start time of the selection period. The statement is combined with the date specified in the START parameter. The statement defines the point in time before which no SMF data is evaluated for conversion to CA 1 update transactions.
Default: 00:00:00
Defines the ending day of the selection period. The date format should match the pattern specified in the DATEFMT execution parameter. If the DATEFMT pattern is not entered, YYYY/DDD is used. END is combined with the ETIME parameter. The statement defines the point in time after which no SMF data is evaluated for conversion to CA 1 update transactions. If you omit the END control statement, every record after the START control statement is used (if you specify the START control statement).
Defines the end time of the selection period. The statement is combined with the date that you specify in the END parameter. The statement defines the point in time after which no SMF data is evaluated for conversion to CA 1 update transactions.
Default: 23:59:59
Defines the ACCT (User Data) field of all tape records that are written to the TMSUPDTE DD. You can better identify tapes that are recovered using the TMSSMF utility. The field is 50 characters maximum and enclosed by single quotes. For volumes that TMSSMF recovers, do not use the User Data field in the TMC volume record for storing job accounting or other information. This information is not available.
Default: blank
Limits: 50 characters
The following example shows the TMSSMF control statements that select SMF records from the period 10:00AM to 7:00PM on August 10, 2012 (Julian date 2012/223). The SMF data set for the entire day is captured on the extract file. These control statements choose only the SMF Type 14 and 15 records for the time that CA 1 was not active (from 10:00AM to 7:00PM).
The following example shows the TMSSMF control statements that select SMF records from the period 2:00 to 4:00PM on April 15, 2013. You can use the MMMDDYYYY date format on the control statement because DATEFMT=MMMDDYYYY is specified as a JCL parameter. The ACCT= parameter in the following example saves the text RECOVERED BY TMSSMF in the User Accounting field of the volume records to be recovered.
