TMSUNCAT Utility—Uncatalog Tape Data Sets

Use the TMSUNCAT utility to uncatalog tape data sets previously scratched by TMSCLEAN.

TMSUNCAT uses the EARLOUT data set created during TMSCLEAN SCRATCHLIST processing.

In environments where system catalogs containing tape data set entries are not available to the system where TMSCLEAN was executed, you can use TMSUNCAT to keep the system catalog and the TMC synchronized. TMSCLEAN uncatalogs what it can when scratching tapes based on the setting of the UNCATA option. The EARLOUT data set can be saved and used with TMSUNCAT on other systems to perform the tape data set uncatalog requests. See TMSCLEAN in this guide for more information.

CA 1 must be active or batch active to run TMSUNCAT.
