Use the TMSTPPRO utility to perform the following functions:
When executed, TMSTPPRO will request, and the system will issue, an initial mount request. Thereafter, TMSTPPRO will continue to make mount requests until a system STOP command is issued for the job. Once the STOP is issued, the last mount of a volume will terminate the job.
For each tape mounted, TMSTPPRO reads the tape header label, constructs a TMC formatted record from the tape header label information, then performs the processing requested by the user in the PARM field.
If no expiration date is supplied in the tape header label or by the macro, and none is supplied by the EXPDT parameter, the expiration date is set to 1960/001 and the scratch bit is turned on.
Multivolume chaining is not performed. However, creation date and time are filled in; multivolume tapes should be mounted to ensure correct chaining at a later time.
TMSTPPRO modifies the JFCB label type to BLP.
Note: HDR1 tape labels contain only the last 17 characters of the data set name. Catalog Control EXPDTs do not function for TMC records created by TMSTPPRO with data set names greater than 17 characters.
Console messages may be issued during TMSTPPRO processing. These messages are documented in the Message Reference Guide.
Depending on the function to be performed, CA 1 may be active, batch active or inactive to run TMSTPPRO.
Note: This program is not recommended for usage when the tapes to be read are in a robotic type of device, such as IBM 3494/3495 or STK silo.
