The functionality provided by TMSREMOV is included in the TMSXTEND utility. TMSXTEND provides a simpler way to remove a range of volumes. Refer to the discussion of the benefits and restrictions associated with TMSXTEND later in this manual. After creating a new TMC using the TMSXTEND utility, you must use that utility to add or remove any volume ranges or DSNBs.
TMSREMOV is used to physically remove a range of Volume records from the TMC. Step-by-step instructions for this procedure are detailed on TMSREMOV Procedure. The volumes must be in an inactive (DELETE) status, which can be established by TMSDELET once the volumes have been scratched by TMSCLEAN. The flowchart on Control Statement Specification provides an overview of this operation.
CA 1 must be batch active to run TMSREMOV.
Important! This program should be used only by the personnel responsible for the installation and maintenance of CA 1.
