Activating CA 1

The normal operator response to the IEFTMS0 message is U to activate CA 1. Optionally, CA 1 can be deactivated by responding with the CA 1 system password instead of U. Users may initialize CA 1 with the following MVS command:

START TMSINIT,PRMI='parm'

If TMSINIT is included as part of the CAIRIM process, CA 1 is normally started as a system task by CAIRIM. Once the initialization is complete, TMSINIT ends. TMSINIT does not remain active as a task in your environment.

System software such as console directors, cross-domain managers, security packages, and so forth, should normally be initialized prior to CA 1 during a system IPL process.

Example:

START TMSINIT would be entered through the console.
