CTSTAPER Utility—Test CA 1 Operating System Intercepts and Functions

Use the CTSTAPER utility to test CA 1 when:

• CA 1 is first installed.
• The operating system release is upgraded.
• CA 1 system options are changed.

CTSTAPER issues OPEN, CLOSE, and FEOV macros to verify the realtime and online system interface. TMSBINQ or the CA 1 online facilities can be used to ensure that activity on the volumes used by CTSTAPER is properly captured for any type of tape data set I/O combination. TMSAUDIT can be used for a detailed analysis of the data management interface.

The program can also be used to verify the console message intercept for scratch subpools, label/density changes, default expiration dates, Auxiliary Disposition or other CA 1 functions.

For tapes to be tracked, CA 1 must be active to run CTSTAPER.
