EMC DLM Recommendations and Procedures

To provide support for the EMC DLM, install the following usermod that you find in hlq.CTAPJCL:

CTSJUCBX

Applies your customized source to CBRUXENT (and optionally CBRUXEJC, CBRUXVNL) to your z/OS linklib.

Set the following system parameters and procedures:

• To enable real-time scratch processing, set ROBSCR=YES in the TMOOPTxx member of CTAPOPTN.
• To assign a one-day retention to all work files, set WRKFLS=NO in the TMOOPTxx member of CTAPOPTN.
• If YSVC=YES, update your security system to give OAM update access to the resource YSVCUNCD.

Run your normal daily maintenance jobs. When TMSCLEAN runs, TMSCLEAN notifies OAM to update the TCDB of the scratched tapes. Run the scratch sync job that EMC provides.

Note: Set CA 1 to active status before you use other software products that use tape or look for the CA 1 mount messages. These products include OAM for the EMC DLM. CA 1 supports scratch subpooling in the EMC DLM manual tape library.
