The Common Tape System (CTS) provides a set of interfaces to all CA tape management products. CTS consists of a started task, utilities, and interface programs. CTS is started by commands provided in the member CTSSTART in hlq.CTAPOPTN. In the ENFCMDS member of CA Common Services hlq.PPOPTION which CAIENF reads, specify 'S CTS' to have CAIENF start CTS. In the CTS startup procedure, the CTSSTART member in hlq.CTAPOPTN is read and the CTS system starts.
The VPM subtask is unique in that it obtains options from the VSAM Database (VDB). If you use this subtask, the VPM dynamically allocates the VDB.
