Security

Security is provided to eliminate unauthorized inquiry or update requests. Inquiry only access is allowed for security controls. The CA 1 system password allows the highest possible access to all online facilities and the use of them. Using this password, you can inquire on and you can update password-protected data sets, and you can perform any online functions. If external security is being used, you must be authorized to use this password.

CA 1 provides the capability to define optional online user profiles. CA 1 also provides capability to control the type and degree of access that can be exercised when using all online facilities. Specific TMC update functions, record types, and fields that can be accessed can be defined.

• For more information about CA 1 system security and password protection, see the Programming Guide.
• The CTS ISPF panels do not use the CA 1 security profile. Restrict the access to the CTS ISPF panels using your external security system (CA ACF2, CA Top Secret, or IBM RACF).
