CA 1 Health Checker Service (HCK)

The CTSHCK subtask of the Common Tape System provides support for the CA 1 health checks when you do not want to run the CA Common Services CAHCHECK address space. The CA 1® Tape Management health checks run under the IBM Health Checker for z/OS to do the following:

• Identify potential problems ( CA 1 and other) in your z/OS environment.
• Recommend how to fix the potential problems.

This subtask is always started when the CTS address space starts. If you are not using the CA Common Services CAHCHECK address space, all available CA 1® Tape Management health checks are automatically discovered and started. If the CA Common Services CAHCHECK address space is available, TMSINIT automatically discovers and starts the CA 1 health checks in the CAHCHECK address space.
