Use the CTSSYNC utility to communicate with OAM using LCS services for both the basic ATL and the VTS. This is in the main interface module between CA 1® Tape Management and OAM. For basic ATL support, CTSSYNC is used to eject tapes and can also be used to synchronize the TCDB with the TMC. Additional functionality to support the VTS is described in the IBM VTS section below.
CTSSYNC can perform eject or synchronize functions on either a range of volumes or a list of volumes. The utility can accept input from both control statements and parameter values. CA 1® Tape Management provides CA Earl report member TMEEJECT of hlq.CTAPEARL to read the output of the vault system program TMSVMVLT and format eject statements for volumes selected to be moved to a vault.
