Storage of tape media in off-site locations is vital to a data center. The CA 1 Vault Management System (VMS) provides the means to automatically generate reports describing the necessary movement of volumes to and from off-site locations once your critical tape data sets have been created. A Vault Pattern Description (VPD) data set describes to VMS those files that require movement based on your requirements.
