Planning Recovery

Plan for disaster backup and recovery early in the deployment planning cycle. Consider eliminating single points of failure as providing the most resilient solution.

This chapter describes how to perform disaster recovery using CA Cloud Storage for System z. Disaster recovery is the process of recovering the technology infrastructure critical to an organization after a natural or man-made disaster. CA Cloud Storage for System z supports disaster recovery by exploiting the disaster recovery capabilities of your storage appliance.

The disaster recovery procedures involve following the off-site recovery procedure outlined in the chapter "Recovering CA Vtape" in the Administration Guide. Then follow the disaster recovery procedures in your storage appliance documentation.

The appendix "Redundant Configuration", details a more redundant configuration of the Linux Server which eliminates single points of failure.
