Retrieve a Customized CA HIPS Client Installation Image

You can retrieve the latest copy of the CA HIPS client installation package (client.zip file) that you created on the CA HIPS server to do the following:

• Create a backup copy of the package
• Examine the contents of the file
• Create different images for various groups of CA HIPS clients
• Post the .zip file to a network share

To retrieve the latest CA HIPS client installation image

1. Log in to the CA HIPS server.

   The Dashboard appears.

2. Click Main.

   The Main menu appears.

3. Click Global Settings.

   The Configuration Settings window appears.

4. Click Client Installation.

   The Client Installation window appears.

5. Click Get HIPS Engine Install.

   Note: The Get HIPS Engine Install button only appears after you have created an install package.

   The client installation package is retrieved. A file download dialog appears. You can save or examine the file. To copy the file, simply save the file to a new location or name. To examine the file, you need some application that can open the .zip file format.
