CA TM Services

A service only appears on a system if one of the components that requires the service is installed on the system. For example, the eTrust ITM Web Access Service (InoWeb) only appears on a system if the ITM Server is installed. Refer to the Components Using this Service column to determine whether a service should be running a particular machine.

Note: In the following table, the .exe file extension does not apply to Linux, Solaris, or Mac OS X.

CA Anti-Virus Realtime Service

CA TM Agent

Provides real-time, on access scanning.

eTrust ITM Jobs Service (InoTask.exe)

 

CA TM Agent

Schedules background tasks, such as scheduled scan jobs and content updates, and performs scheduled scans.

eTrust ITM RPC Service (InoRpc.exe)

CA TM Agent

CA TM Server

Listens for the ITM Server discovery and policy requests.

This service is required to provide communication services between computers managed by the ITM Server.

eTrust ITM Web Access Service

CA TM Server

Handles communication between the Java GUI layer and the native function interfaces.

eTrust ITM Server Service (InoNmSrv.exe)

CA TM Server

Manages client computers running the agent software.

iTechnology Gateway Service

CA TM Agent

Hosts the Agent GUI.

Apache Content Server

Redistribution Server

Apache HTTP server service that hosts content updates (signature and program updates).
