When you create policies you choose various options for that policy. If you choose an option that only applies to a particular type of computer, that option is ignored if the policy is run on other computers. For example, you can create a single Scheduled Job policy for both Windows and Linux computers, using specific options that apply to one or the other platform. When the scan job runs, any references to the Windows-only options or paths are ignored on the Linux computers. If suitable for your environment, this allows you to create a single policy for multiple platforms.
