Issues with rmcompt.exe

The following are known issues when using the rmcompt.exe utility to remove non-CA anti-malware programs:

• If the competitive AV software has an uninstall password, rmcompt.exe cannot uninstall the product, because rmcompt.exe cannot decrypt the uninstall password.
• There is a problem when running rmcompt.exe as a preinstall process under the remote install facility when the setting for the Reboot entry in the [InstallComponent] section of the inoc6.icf file is non-zero. Normally the inoc6.icf file is found in the InoRemote\data directory. Make sure that the value is 0 e.g. Reboot=0
• Rmcompt may not remove the LiveUpdate component from Symantec. Functionality of the LiveUpdate component is to download the updates for the product.
