Reason:

• The Backup Agent for Microsoft SQL Server services might be down.
• The security information provided may not be correct.
• A network failure may have occurred.

Action:

1. Check network connections.
2. Verify Windows and database authentication information for the production server.
3. If all network connections are functional and authentication is correct, stop and restart the backup agent services on the production server. These are the "Backup Agent RPC Server" for all database backup agents, and the "Backup Agent Remote Service" for the Backup Agent for Microsoft SQL Server.
