Failed to connect to NDMP server %hs for backup. (ret %d)

NDMP NAS Option

Reason:

BrightStor ARCserve Backup is unable to connect to the NAS server to trigger the backup operation.

Action:

To address this error message, perform the following:

• Check the user name and password.
• Confirm that the NDMP is enabled on the NAS server.
• Confirm that you can enumerate the volumes of the NAS server.
• Confirm that NAS server name can be resolved using DNS and that it is listed in the local Windows hosts file.
