Reason:

This error message is generated by the following conditions:

• A hardware error was detected on the tape drive.
• The block size of the tape differs from the block size the tape drive expects so the tape driver has write-protected the tape.

Action:

To address this error message, perform the following tasks:

• Inspect the TAPE$SVR.LOG file for the SCSI error and address any hardware problems based on the information in the file.
• If you need the data on the tape, use CONFIG BLOCKSIZE to change the block size to agree with the tape block size. If you do not need the data, use Tape Manager to erase or reformat the tape with the correct block size.
