Error 5042

Receive time out (Sequence = sequence #)

Module:

Workstation

Reason:

This error occurs due to one of the following:

• The workstation has been turned off.
• The connection is broken.
• A broadcast message is blocking access to the workstation.
• Some routing problem.

Action:

For each of the causes, check the following

• Has the workstation been shut off?
• From the server console screen configuration form, select "Yes" for "Use 512 kbyte packet to communicate with WS Agent:" This forces BrightStor ARCserve Backup to use a smaller packet size.

You can also load the DOSagent with a parameter that forces a 512-byte packet to be used.

Use the command: DOSAGENT !

1. Press CTRL-ENTER at the workstation to clear the broadcast message.
2. Check routers or other hardware problems.
